Responsible Play: Warning Signs, Controls, and Help

If play is affecting your wellbeing, relationships or essential finances, you do not need to wait for a diagnosis or a bigger loss to pause and seek help.

Independent support and provider descriptions checked 26 September 2026. This is not counseling, a diagnosis or a tested account-control workflow.

Start with safety, not a perfect plan

Stop the session and create distance from the next one. If you are in immediate danger or fear you may harm yourself, contact local emergency services or an urgent crisis service in your country. This page cannot provide emergency care.

For non-urgent help, reach an independent service such as Gambling Therapy or a qualified local professional. Deep Poker can answer questions within its own site and listed Club relationships, but it does not provide treatment or control all poker accounts.

Warning signs worth taking seriously

These examples are reasons to pause and talk to someone; they are not a diagnostic test. Harm can matter even if the product you used describes its game chips as play money.

  • Playing longer or taking greater risks to reverse an earlier result.
  • Using borrowed money or money needed for housing, food, health or family.
  • Hiding time spent, results or the effect on relationships and finances.
  • Repeatedly crossing a time, money or access limit you set for yourself.
  • Continuing while sleep, work, study or relationships are being affected.
  • Feeling distressed when trying to pause or stop.

The NHS gambling-harm guidance describes support and treatment options, including for family and friends in its service area. Its UK/England routes are not a worldwide service directory.

A practical pause plan

  1. Leave the game or site. Turn off notifications and remove saved shortcuts if they make re-entry too easy. Avoid decisions made in the middle of a distressed session.
  2. Choose more than one barrier. Ask the relevant platform or Club about its own pause/closure tools; check device blocking, bank controls or a licensed-market scheme only where they actually apply.
  3. Tell a trusted person or service. Independent support can help you plan beyond app settings. You do not need to disclose passwords or give another person access to your account.
  4. Review the gaps. A block on one device, bank or operator may leave other routes open. Read each provider's current coverage and removal rules before relying on it.

These steps can add friction; none guarantees that harmful play becomes impossible or replaces professional support.

Control scope checked against providers' current public descriptions, 26 September 2026
ControlWhat it may doWhat to verify
An account or Club-specific requestAsk the actual platform or Club what pause, limit or closure options exist for that account.Do not assume a named Club, Deep or ClubGG can block every other poker service.
Device blockingA tool such as BetBlocker can restrict listed gambling sites and apps on a supported device.Coverage, device support and removal rules depend on the tool; check the provider before relying on it.
Bank or card controlsAsk your own bank whether it offers a gambling block and how to enable it.Coverage varies; it is not the same as blocking an app or getting clinical support.
Licensed-market self-exclusionGAMSTOP can block access to participating online operators licensed in Great Britain for the selected period. It does not cover every country, private Club or non-participating service; check its current rules and your location.

BetBlocker describes its own free device tool and current database coverage; we did not install it. GAMSTOP Online explains that its exclusion applies to participating Great Britain-licensed online operators and cannot block non-participating services. The NHS also lists asking your bank about gambling blocks. No control here is represented as universal.

Independent support, by actual scope

Choose a service that serves your location and need. The descriptions below are from the providers, not evidence that a particular appointment, meeting or response is currently available to you.

  • Global online: Gambling Therapy offers free support to people affected by gambling; its live-support page explains text chat and translation. Availability and native-language support vary.
  • United States: the National Council on Problem Gambling lists call/text 1-800-MY-RESET, chat and links to local resources. This is a US service, not a worldwide emergency number.
  • England: the NHS gambling-harm page explains treatment clinics and urgent mental-health routes. Check local eligibility and service availability.
  • Peer meetings: Gamblers Anonymous lists international meeting search and meeting types. A peer meeting is not emergency or clinical care.

If none of these serves your location, ask a qualified local health service for a gambling-harm referral. Do not substitute a distant helpline for local emergency support.

Keep ClubGG, a private Club and Deep separate

ClubGG's account guide separates the Club section from membership/prize features. Ask official ClubGG Help about its platform account and any controls it actually provides. A named Club administrator may answer for that Club's own settings; Deep may answer for its listed Club relationships and Deep site/account scope. None should be described as a universal self-exclusion provider or a counseling service.

If a listed resource asks you to register or share sensitive details, read that resource's own current privacy and eligibility terms before doing so. We do not operate those services.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does one self-exclusion scheme cover every poker product?

No. GAMSTOP applies to participating online gambling operators licensed in Great Britain, not every poker app, private Club or service worldwide. Check the scheme's current scope and pair it with other controls and independent support where appropriate.

What if a platform has no limit that fits my needs?

Do not treat that as a reason to continue. Ask the actual platform or Club about its own account options, consider device and bank controls where available, and contact an independent support service. Coverage of any tool must be checked before relying on it.

Can Deep Poker provide treatment or exclude me from all poker services?

No. Deep can respond about its own site, accounts and listed Club relationships within their scope, but it is not a treatment provider or a universal self-exclusion service. For treatment, use an independent qualified service; for a particular platform account, use that platform's official support.

What if I am worried about someone else?

You can seek support for yourself as well. Gambling Therapy explicitly offers help to people affected by another person's gambling, and regional services may have family resources. Do not share the other person's account credentials or private records with an unverified contact.

What if I am in immediate danger?

Contact local emergency services or a crisis service in your country now. A gambling helpline or this website is not emergency care. The services listed here have different locations, hours and functions; use a local urgent-care route for an immediate crisis.

Sources and review limits

Primary support and provider pages checked 26 September 2026. This article intentionally avoids an unsourced promise that a particular Club, app, bank or country offers a specific limit or treatment path.

We did not test a blocking installation, account closure, helpline response or medical outcome. Neither this article nor Deep Poker offers diagnosis, therapy, crisis care or a guarantee that a block will cover all access.
